Geskiedenis |
He was the Headmaster of St Stithians College, Randburg from July 1969 to December 1988, when he became National Director of the Independent Schools' Council. He served in this position until December 1998, when he retired. He was deeply involved in the management and organising of private schools and the changes that swept through education since 1976. He was also involved in cricket administration on National level and was Vice-President of the South African Cricket Association during 1977. He served in several positions in Transvaal Cricket for many years. In 1998 he was awarded the Johannesburg College of Education Rector's Gold Medal Award for "his commitment and dedicated service to education, for his professionalism and for the fine example he set to pupils and colleagues". Mark and his father are the only father/son recipients of this award.
